On Christmas Eve 2014, after a long day working two jobs, I discovered a tiny, frail black cat with feminine green eyes hiding near my apartment dumpster. Riddled with fleas and scabs, she was a trembling shadow. I rescued her, named her Lilly, and gave her the loving home she so desperately needed.

Over time, she blossomed into the most affectionate cat a guy could ask for. She was with me through every chapter of my life—curled up beside me in my tiny Santa Barbara studio as I went to school to figure out who I wanted to be, or sun basking in the summer heat of Las Vegas, and later, she kept me company in Mountain View and Campbell as I built my career in software engineering. Through late-night study sessions, stressful job interviews, and the quiet moments in between, she was always there—purring softly, reminding me that no matter how much life changed, she wouldn't.

In January of 2025, after a decade of unforgettable memories, I had to say goodbye to my little sweetheart. She was 19 years old. Her gentle spirit and playful nature inspired me to create something special—a cat tree with a replaceable scratcher nest. Tired of watching expensive cat trees wear down under her playful claws, I designed a solution that lets you keep the sturdy base while simply swapping out the scratcher, ensuring a lifetime of comfort and fun.

Today, MAJSTC stands as a heartfelt tribute to Lilly and every cat that fills our lives with warmth. With every piece of furniture we create, we honor her memory—because our cats aren’t just pets. They are family, they are home, and they stay with us, long after they’re gone.
